The No-nonsense night skincare routine and beauty products for dry skin

What is the best skincare for dry skin face? Is it too hard to follow a daily routine? Am I using the right products? If these are the questions on your mind, we can help you come up with a simple and effective nighttime routine for beautiful skin.

  • Cleansing is key to great skin but moderation is required

Clean skin is the starting point. Especially after a long day, a good cleanse is a must. You may even double cleanse with Brahmi's Rose and Tulsi cleanser which has the best ingredients for dry skin if you have been wearing a lot of makeup or exposed to long hours in dust and dirt. Be gentle on your skin as you cleanse and don’t leave your cleanser on for too long.

  • Don’t pat your face bone-dry. Leave a little moisture on

While drying, use soft cotton or linen clothes and gently tap dry. Don’t rub. Also, let a bit of water stay on the skin to keep the moisture. Never use harsh cloth or alcohol-based wipes to dry your face.

  • Moisturise. Moisturise. Moisturise

Before the water escapes, seal it with your trusty moisturizer. Your moisturizer should do two things: add moisture to your skin(obviously) & seal in the moisture. Take a generous dollop of the product and massage it starting from the center of the face to the sides. Don't forget the neck.

  • Do not exfoliate too frequently

Exfoliation has to be done carefully with dry skin. If you don't do it you are left with flaky, dull skin and if you do it excessively, get ready for blotchy red skin and irritation. Finding a balance is important. We recommend using an exfoliant once or twice a week for dry skin.

Take a shower and go for your nighttime routine right before bed

  • Use a face oil to massage on your face

Massaging your skin has numerous benefits from improving circulation and it makes you feel pampered. Use a light face oil on your face and infuse the product deep into your skin layers.

Brahmi face oils contains Vitamin A, Sodium PCA. Sodium PCA can hold up to 250 times its weight in water. Steinmetz points out that it may be up to twice as effective as glycerin at retaining moisture levels in the skin.

Reduces the appearance of wrinkles: Sodium PA helps skin achieve that plump, youthful look thanks to its ability to increase the water content of skin.

  • Leave your moisturiser in the fridge to soothe skin

We certainly love this tip in the summer. As the heat rises, treat yourself to a spa-moment every morning with a chilled moisturiser for a luxurious effect.

  • Keep your hair out of your face while sleeping

Hairbands and a loose braid are your best friend to keep those flyaways out of your face at night. Secure your hair especially if you are skipping hair washes once or twice a week.

  • Ditch the AC if you can

If the temperature is pleasant, try to go without the AC as it can dry out your skin and make it look dull. You can also use a humidifier to add moisture to the atmosphere during those peak winter and summer months when the humidity hits rock bottom.

  • Drink water before your go to bed and right after you get up in the morning

Always carry a bottle of water with you. If it gets too boring, add a pinch of lemon to make you go for a gulp many times throughout the day. Drink water consistently and you will instantly notice a change in your skin.

  • Skip the morning cleanser

Once you have had a good nighttime routine, you can even skip the cleanser in the morning to avoid drying out your skin. But if you did sweat it out at night, take a small dollop of cleanser and clean up for a fresh start.
